The University of Edinburgh has been linked with India for nearly 250 years, and its officials are happy to invite SRK, who is currently busy shooting “Dilwale”.
“The University of Edinburgh has very strong ties with India and I am delighted that we are able to welcome one of the most outstanding stars of world cinema,” said Charlie Jeffery, senior vice-principal, University of Edinburgh.
“The university is to host a visit by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan on Thursday, 15 October. The actor, one of Bollywood’s most popular stars, will give a public lecture at the University’s New College,” read a statement on the university’s official website.
SRK, known for films like “Baazigar”, “Darr”, “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge”, “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” and “Jab Tak Hai Jaan”, was awarded one of India’s highest civilian awards, the Padma Shri, in 2005.
