The Philadelphia Orchestra Returns to The Macao

Macao, May 30, 2016: The  Philadelphia Orchestra returned to Macao to  perform at The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Macao on Saturday, as part of their 2016 China Residency and Tour of Asia. The Philadelphia Orchestra with Lang Lang in Concert. featured acclaimed Chinese pianist Lang Lang who wowed the audience with his stunning performance .while Japanese-American violinist Ryu Goto made his Philadelphia Orchestra debut on May 29 – The Philadelphia Orchestra’s 2016 China Residency and Tour of Asia in Macao.

Supported by Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao S.A.R. government, the Philadelphia Orchestra has returned to the city for the fifth consecutive year. The Venetian Macao served as Presenting Sponsor again this year.

The concert featured performances of Sibelius’s Finlandia and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Sheherazade by the Orchestra and Lang Lang in Rachmaninoff’s First Piano Concerto.

The concert was conducted by Philadelphia Orchestra Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin.
