Jammu, Aug 2 : Pakistan Rangers fired on Sunday at Indian positions on the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir. The firing began at 1.30 a.m. The BSF retaliated effectively.
Pakistan Rangers resorted to unprovoked firing at Border Security Force outposts in Kotranka area of R.S. Pura sector, Intermittent firing exchanges continued in the area till 2.30 a.m.
The officer said no casualty or damage has been reported from the Indian side.
Pakistan troops have violated the bilateral ceasefire agreement over a dozen times during the last seven days on the border, causing panic among thousands of villagers in Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts.
These border residents have been forced to abandon their homes and agricultural fields for fear of life.
