The death has been reported from Barabanki, neighbouring the state capital.
Officials informed that the the victim had high grade fever and cold for the past few days and was being treated at a private medical hospital, which later was shifted to the Sanjay Gandhi Post-graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI) on Wednesday where he died later at night.
His blood samples were tested positive for swine flu and his neighbours, relatives and family are now being examined for any infection, a doctor told
“There is no need to panic, health officials across the state capital are vigilant and are keeping an eye on patients showing H1N1 like symptoms” chief medical official (CMO) of Lucknow S.N.S. Yadav said.
This is the second death this year in the state reported due to swine flu.
Last week a 60-year-old from Nirala Nagar locality died due to swine flu.
